Eitan Sapiro-Gheiler is a postdoc at Princeton Politics, working on topics in political economy using tools from economic theory and natural language processing. His recent work focuses on combining theoretical and empirical models of decision-making on U.S. appellate courts. He received his PhD in economics from MIT in 2025 and his undergraduate degree from Princeton in 2019.

Jonathan Kastellec is a Professor in the Department of Politics at Princeton University. His research and teaching interests are in American political institutions, with a particular focus on judicial politics and the politics of Supreme Court nominations and confirmations. His research has been published in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics, the Journal of Law, Economics & Organization, the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies, and Political Research Quarterly. He is the author (with Charles Cameron) of Making the Supreme Court: The Politics of Appointments, 1930-2020.
